Pet Turtle : Injuries

Common injuries can take the form of cuts, scratches, burns, etc. They occur due to fights with other turtles, tank decorations, uncovered heaters, etc.

Remedial Measures
1. Irrigate infected area with 10% hydrogen peroxide, or 10% betadyne (or any other Iodine
      tincture) solution

2. Pat shell dry, apply a topical antibiotic cream.

3. Keep turtle in a 'warm-box' (maintain a temperature of 26-29oC or 80-85oF) that has no water
      under a basking light for a couple of hours. Make sure you add multi-vitamin supplements to the
      food.

4. Repeat every day.
