Tour (recom.)
Almost always the cause of any illness in a turtle can be traced back to either:
  • Improper housing, and/or
  • Improper feeding

While, we have mentioned some of the common diseases & suggested remedial measures (that have worked for other turtle enthusiasts & us) -
this is not a DO-IT-YOURSELF kit! We STRONGLY advice you to seek out the help of a veterinarian that specializes in the treatment of turtles and tortoises.

For sake of convenience we have categorized the key diseases as primary symptoms & cause(s). The probable causes further link up to give you detailed information on that disease and the suggested remedial measures.

Special Mention
  1. Obesity - click here to know more about the most common 'lifestyle' disesase in pet turtles
  2. Never administer the antiparasitic drug ivermectin to turtles. While it is one of the most
effective antiparasitic drugs in the world it should never be used on turtles as It can be extremely
      toxic and cause death
